I've been wanting to write about this since like right after i posted the last log. Sometimes i forget that i do like things and it does not have to feel like i have to force myself to grind all the time. I was watching "The Amazing Digital Circus", specifically episode 3 , when i got a little emotional. I didnt really get emotional from the sad parts of the episode, what got me was animationf of the the character Pomni, specifically the eye movement. Knowing that someone put in the effort to animate the eyes so that the scene felt more dynamic really got me good. Even doing small creative projects like animating eye movement can be beautiful. After that, i started looking at some of my past music protypes to see what was good enough to post here when i found a project i had called "machine". Listening to the file i found that it was one long recording of the output of my loop pedal. It was crude, full of audio distortion, improperly mixed and ended abruptly. The fact that it was just the recorded output of my loop pedal (with the distortion being a part of it) meant that i could also not really mix the file. However i found something kind of pleasant in the sad sounding loop. There is also some satisfaction in knowing that this recording will be forever left unfinished and whatever came after was never recorded. It also makes me think that if i made something unfinished and it sounded kind of cool then maybe i can make something finished that sounds even better. I was pretty unmotivated for most of the day today and really only just played Video Games ("White Knuckle" and "9 kings" specifically) but writing this entry and thinking about these things that i thought were cool has made me feel a little bit better so maybe tommorow i can be more productive than today.
The Pomni Animation i liked.
The audio for "Machine".
I started doing "Draw a Box" again. I did a tiny bit of it before the last spring semester but once the actual work of the semseter started i stopped doing it. I honestly could of kept of doing it even if i did have a bunch of college work. I mostly balme me going really hard on this "flutter" (which is a mobile app development framework) learning course i took. They let me pick my final prroject and i chose to remake the game "Balatro" in flutter.Honestly the Balatro remake came out pretty good for doing it by myself and having a little bit of time. Now that that semester is over and im in summer break i dont really have an excuse to not continue doing draw a box. I dont really have any drawings to post right now because the initial section of draw a box is just drawing the same lines over and over, so im going to post this unfinished music bit i did like a month ago. This is like an ambient music piece which i did super quick with all the sounds being trumpet. Even the bass is just trumpet which has been pitched down. There is going to be more parts for this, but for right now im only posting this little section. Since its not really finished, i also just did like an unfinished mix.
Here is the audio
I forgot i had made this website even after i had said to myself that i was going to start posting stuff so that was kind of lame of me. Im gonna try to actually post some stuff from now on in order to feel productive even though I dont really think everyone should be productive all the time but lately i feel like im getting kind of old and i have not made that much stuff. Im going to start doing "Draw a Box" so i can learn how to draw, once i actually start making progress in "Draw a Box" im gonna start posting some pictures here to monitor my progress. I did get to make some music today so ill post it after this entry. I just sent my usual horn to the shop for cleaning and i got a new mouthpiece from a dude. To test how i was sounding on my old trumpet (because the other one is in the shop) and with the new mouthpiece. I used a loop pedal and then did some improvisation over the loop. I also added some overdubbing at the very end so the song has an actual conclusion. Since i recorded a lot of it on a loop pedal i couldnt really do proper mixing but i tried to do a little bit anyways.Ill try to make some progress on this wbesite a little bit each week so its not so janky like it is right now.
I just titled this audio "trumpetloops"
